I’m sick. Again. This makes the third creeping crud I’ve had since January 1st and it’s not even March yet! I have taken every drug imaginable and was about to give up and cry for the rest of the night when I randomly remembered Hot Toddies. Hot Toddies! I feel so delightfully not-American when I say that word. Such a nice change from McDonald’s and Wal-Mart… Anyways, after my day of “DayQuil doesn’t work…. Tylenol liquid daytime stuff doesn’t work either… Sudafed doesn’t work anymore… Holy crap, NyQuil doesn’t even work on me,” I decided to raid my liquor cabinet. The first Hot Toddy was Yorkshire Gold tea, lemon juice, honey, and some Captain Morgan Private Stock rum. Tasty! It didn’t clear up my stuffy nose, but it made my nose run less (it’s so hard to catch a nose as it’s running away, ya know) and my cough is pretty much gone for the moment. I’m about to go make one more with some Glenfiddich 12 Year Old. If I can get the bottle open, anyways…
Knitting is almost non-existent for me right now. I’m sick. I have too much homework. I can’t concentrate on anything for more than a few minutes at a time… I did make a hat last week. But it’s two inches too long. Every time I make a hat it ends up being too short, so I made sure too make this one longer than I thought was needed. Yeah, that backfired nicely. Unfortunately, the hat was in a lace pattern, which makes it doubly fun to try to rip it back… Oh, and I started a cat bed. Fun.
Time for that Hot Toddy.
